This week we Celebrate 24years as the Lady & the Tramp Grooming, created by Carol in the back of a garage in Tuffley all those years ago, today also marks our 3rd year in this Salon.
I am immensely proud of the business I have created over the years, but none of it would of been possible without the help of so many who have believed in me, supporting me and trusting me.
With my best friend Tasha… by my side and the rest of the AMAZING team we have here (I laugh to myself, in the knowledge this baby I created is older than some of our team ha ha) we have a wonderful, fun & happy place to be, everyone-one of us adores our job, which hopefully you can tell in the way your pooch looks and acts when leaving the salon and the reason you return your gorgeous dogs to us and trust us with them time & time again over the years..
So on this very Special day I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone, family, friends, clients , all the pooches (as it’s the 4 legged ones that give us the passion for what we do every day) ..CHEERS to your support you are all AWESOME, as I would not be writing this or celebrating if it was not for YOU xxxx

Great news for the Parcheeni Poodles. At the Manchester Championship Dog Show, Gaia (Atastar Just In Love with Parcheeni) was first in the post Graduate bitch class and Charlie (Parcheeni Pulled a Cracker) was first in the Open Dog class and then went on to be awarded Best Dog earning him his second Challenge Certificate. The Parcheeni Poodles are always complimented by the judges on their outstanding presentation and the team are very proud of what their hard work has helped to achieve. Dog showing is more than a hair cut but the Parcheenis show off ‘the art’ of dog grooming to perfection.
Saturday 11th January 2014
For the second year running, Charlie (Parcheeni Pulled a Cracker) was cordially invited to attend the annual Poodle of the year Gala. This is a high honour indeed as only the 16 top winning poodles in each size are invited to compete. In a knock out competition, Charlie won his way to the semi final & was the top winning male standard poodle on the day. Carol & Tasha merrily celebrated his achievement by dancing the night away at the evening dinner & dance whilst Charlie happily munched on some extra treats!!
MUCH LOVE FROM

Carol has continued to show her gorgeous boy Charlie (Parcheeni Pulled a Cracker) with great success; Charlie now has a lifetime qualification to show at Crufts after winning his first Challenge Certificate & five reserves to date. He always impresses the judges, achieving mainly first place in his class, and Carol is proud that the judges’ critiques are always complimentary of excellent presentation and grooming on both show dogs. Charlie was recently named ‘Best in Show’ at The Standard Poodle Club show for the second year running.
There is an addition to the Parcheeni show team who goes by the name of Gaia (Atastar Just in Love with Parcheeni). Gaia was bred by Mr Philip Langdon from the Atastar Kennel in Bristol and is joining in Charlie’s success in the show ring by also qualifying for Crufts 2014 at her first show this year; most recently, Gaia was Reserve Best Bitch at The International Poodle Club show.

This is a workshop designed for those who have been asking or enquiring about help and guidance from me with the show coats on their Poodles.
We are all aware that presentation should not be the outstanding factor in any show dog, but as a owner/handler myself and many like me it is important to present our dogs, showing the beauty of them enhancing them best way we possibly can!
This workshop is to help guide those that would like to put the style and finish on their dogs coats (as one lady put it to me a bit of finesse) would be a great help to her! Of course this is only “MY” interpretation and styling of Show trimming and by no means the only way to get a finish on a show coat!
This workshop will require you to bring your own dog (1dog per person) “Bathed & Dried” along with your own scissors & combs for styling! Then we will look at the shape and style of your dog’s coat and offer advice on enhancing and getting that all important “finesse”.
Price £60 including Lunch & refreshments (£30 without a dog)
£20 deposit payable by 14th December This will give plenty of time for me to contact you receive photos of your dog to advise you where you may possibly need to grow some extra hair on your dog enabling us to style it!

We are well known for our Poodle Fashioning of their coats here at The Lady & the Tramp Grooming Salon & Spa. Although we cater for all breeds of dogs. One would presume that due to us enjoying “Hand Scissoring” in particular people travel from all around the country on regular 4-6 week intervals for us to style and trim their Poodles, we are very adapt to trimming the none shedding Poodle coats in many different styles to suit many life styles, whether you have a Poodle that lives on a farm or whether you have an Urban Poodle, the joy of having such a versatile coat that doesn’t shed hair all around the house is a joy, not having to get that dreaded vacuum cleaner out so often is a bonus for having such a wonderful breed around, another popular none shedding breed is the Bichon Frise a lovely ball of white curly hair, this breed seems to be very popular at too, though a very difficult coat for the owners to master in between salon sessions in the brushing and grooming department, but once we have been able to show them the correct handleing and brushing techniques they soon master the coats finding pleasure in this wonderful cute breed.
We are finding a lot of the new designer cross bred dogs, proclaimed to be none shedding are not all one would hope for, in our opinion and from our experience of grooming them, more often than not they certainly do shed hair, they are of course very beautiful as is our opinion all dogs are, sadly many are being bought as family pets where children (and some adults) have allergies and a none shedding Poodle or Bichon coat is advisable, we are seeing time and time again how many of these beautiful designer dogs are having to be put up for re homing or in rescue kennels due to someone in the house having an allergic reaction to them…
We welcome any K9 into our Salon always have always will, but as a word of caution, please be aware what type of coat/hair that puppy you are considering bringing into your home as a beloved family pet has, it so saddens us to see loving families heart broken when they have to make a heat wrenching decision to re home a Four legged member of their family…
Another busy day in the Salon with a Maltese Terrier, 5 Toy Poodles, 3 Standard Poodles (1 in full Show coat) a Bedlinton Terrier, a Labradoodle and a Bearded Collie, all of these beautiful four legged ones come into the Salon regularly, (approx every 4-8weeks) they are so comfortable and relaxed here, its such a lovely sight to see them chilled out enjoying the Massage they get in the bath , then being hand dried, allowed to rest for a while, before having their hair styled and trimmed in a way that not only looks fabulous on them but also in a way that suits the owners lifestyle and the dogs coat types.. Finally a Spritz of one of our beautiful fragrances before being handed over to their owners..
It fills us with such pride to see the owners face’s delighted to see their dogs looking and smelling “Like they just stepped out of a Salon” we just know that the way these dogs are looking and smelling they are definitely going to get extra cuddles for a while….
All in a days work… wouldn’t change our job for anything…. *SMILES* 🙂
The Grooming maintenance workshop was a great success, the feed back we have had has been wonderful, our Guest speaker Lee Cox representing Purina – Pro Plan was very informative on nutrition and healthy diet for dogs and everyone found his talk interesting and easy to listen too..
Tasha demonstrated the correct technequies in handling, equipment, along with conditioning products to help maintain a healthy easy to manage coats on dogs. Tasha had some fun stories of events that have taken place in the salon on occasions that made everyone laugh as well as having some sad stories relating to health issues and dogs coats that could easily of been avoided if only the owners had been taught how to easily maintain their dogs coat correctly…
In all the event proved a great success, so much so that all that attend left asking when we will be holding another workshop and what the subjebt content would be………………….

Our dog grooming proved to be prize wining when Parcheeni Pulled a Cracker (Carol’s dog Charlie) won Best Puppy in show at The International Poodle Club dhow on the 25th March 2012. He was bathed the day before in the salon and Carol took her brushes and scissors with her to finish his look at the show. Bathed, brushed and trimmed to perfection! Well done Charlie (and Carol did ok too!).
